Consider what resonates with you.
TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) is an active, participatory approach that engages you with exercises designed to help you work with your body’s natural tremor response. In contrast, Reiki is a receptive practice where you simply rest comfortably while receiving energy healing.
Some individuals may feel an immediate attraction to one modality. Others discover that TRE® and Reiki complement each other wonderfully: TRE® encourages the body to actively release tension, while Reiki provides a soothing environment for rest, receiving, and integrating the effects of that release.

TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a body-based practice developed by Dr. David Berceli that uses a series of simple exercises to activate the body's natural neurogenic tremor mechanism.
These gentle, involuntary tremors can help the body release patterns of muscular tension and stress while supporting greater relaxation, regulation and connection with the body.

Working with me, a Certified TRE® Provider, offers you personalized guidance as you learn how your body responds to the practice. I help you recognize signs that your nervous system may be becoming activated, regulate the intensity and duration of the tremors, and make adjustments when necessary.
An important aspect of TRE® is learning to identify your body's cues and finding a pace that feels comfortable. Since the body's response can continue to unfold in the hours after a session, we also talk about what to notice afterward and how to adjust the frequency or intensity of future sessions based on your responses.
Over time, the goal is to help you develop greater awareness and confidence in working with your body's natural tremor response.

Tremoring is a natural physiological response that humans and other mammals experience. You may have felt it after being frightened, extremely stressed, cold, or physically exerted.
TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) intentionally encourages this natural mechanism rather than suppressing it. During our sessions, the tremors may move through different areas of the body as the nervous system reacts.
-
Everyone's experience is different.
Tremors may be subtle or more noticeable and can occur in the legs, pelvis, abdomen, shoulders or other areas of the body. They may change throughout a session.
Some people experience deep relaxation, warmth, tingling or a feeling of spaciousness. Emotions can also arise, including tears or laughter, while others experience TRE® primarily as a physical release without noticeable emotion.
You don't need to analyze or relive anything. There is no particular experience you need to have for TRE® to be beneficial.
-
No. One of the most important aspects of TRE® is learning that you remain in control of the process.
As a Certified TRE® Provider, we would work together to teach you how to increase, decrease, reposition or completely stop the tremors whenever you choose. Developing this ability to self-regulate is an important part of the practice.
-
That's completely okay.
Every nervous system responds differently, particularly during a first session. Some people tremor quickly, while others need more time for their body to become comfortable with the process.
We don't force the tremors. Your body's response is allowed to develop at its own pace.

No.
TRE® can be used by people interested in releasing everyday stress and muscular tension, improving body awareness, supporting nervous-system regulation or simply experiencing a deeper sense of relaxation. You do not need to identify as having experienced trauma to practice TRE®.
And if you have experienced trauma, TRE® does not require you to tell your story, identify a particular trauma or consciously revisit difficult experiences. The practice works through the body rather than requiring you to verbally process the past. You are always welcome to share what you're experiencing, but disclosure is never required.

Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy practice intended to support relaxation, balance, and overall well-being.
Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® builds upon the foundations of Usui Reiki while introducing additional energies, symbols, and techniques. Holy Fire energy is often experienced as continuous, deeply calming, and self-guiding, while Karuna Reiki emphasizes compassion and working with deeper emotional and energetic patterns.
"Karuna" is a Sanskrit word associated with compassionate action. The practice incorporates support for deeper emotional, energetic, and spiritual work.
As a Registered Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Master and Teacher, my sessions draw upon both Usui Holy Fire® III Reiki and Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® energies throughout.

There is no single Reiki experience.
You may notice warmth, coolness, tingling, gentle waves of sensation, heaviness, lightness, colors or imagery. You may feel deeply relaxed or even fall asleep. Emotions can sometimes surface as well, including tears, laughter, peacefulness or an unexpected emotional shift.
You may also feel very little physically. None of these experiences determines whether Reiki is "working." Reiki can be subtle, and every session can feel different.
There is nothing you need to make happen. Whatever arises is simply allowed to be present.
-
Very little — and that's part of the beauty of it.
You'll simply lie down comfortably, close your eyes if you'd like and allow yourself to receive Reiki energy. There is nothing you need to visualize, accomplish or "do correctly."

Yes. Combining TRE® and Reiki can create a particularly complementary experience. TRE® allows the body to actively engage its natural release mechanism, followed by Reiki to support relaxation, energetic balance and integration.
